RUSADA Deputy Director General Margarita Pakhnotskaya held the second meeting of the working group on the whistleblowers’ protection in the field of anti-doping.
The meeting presented current developments in the field of whistleblower protection, examples of national legislation aimed at whistleblowers’ protection, joint research by WADA and Leeds Beckett University on existing platforms in the world "Report on doping", a new Violations in sport awareness Guide, developed by the UN Office on drugs and crime in together with the IOC.
Experts discussed existing mechanisms for various government, sports, anti-doping and other organizations subject to the new world anti-doping code 2021 articles on the protection of whistleblowers, as well as the possible interaction options aimed at development of an effective mechanism of whistleblowers’ protection in the field of sport and antidoping.
The working group of the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention Monitoring group on whistleblower protection chaired by Margarita Pakhnotskaya was established in May 2019.
