RUSADA at the conference “Anti-doping policy in Russia and worldwide: key problems and innovative approaches to countering doping”

On October 11, 2018, the conference “Anti-doping policy in Russia and worldwide: key problems and innovative approaches to countering doping” was held in the Volga-Sport-Arena during the International Sports Forum “Russia - Country of Sports”. RUSADA Director General Yuri Ganus, RUSADA Deputy Director General Margarita Pakhnotskaya and WADA independent expert at RUSADA Eva Lukosuite-Stanikuniene participated at the event.
Agenda of the conference focused on the implementation of informational and educational campaigns to prevent anti-doping rules violations among various target audiences, including students of sports educational institutions, athletes, coaches and doctors in sports medicine. Also were discussed the Set of measures for the National Plan to combat doping in sport implementation results, as well as anti-doping activities in the regions of the Russian Federation and innovative approaches to countering doping in sport.
The final resolution of the conference included proposals to strengthen the work of all-Russian sports federations on the prevention of doping in sport, to work out the fight against doping in sport within regional sports movements and to take a set of measures to raise public awareness on anti-doping issues.
Additionally, as part of the conference, RUSADA organized several workshops on anti-doping rule violations issues, organization of doping-control and procedures for obtaining TUE.
