On October 14, 2019, RUSADA Deputy Director General Margarita Pakhnotskaya and chief specialist of RUSADA educational programs department Valeriya Konova took part in a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation in Novogorsk. The agenda of the meeting included doping prevention issue.
Margarita Pakhnotskaya addressed statistics of anti-doping rule violations in rhythmic gymnastics and spoke about forms of interaction with all-Russian and regional sports federations. Valeriya Konova made a presentation on types of anti-doping rules violations and responsibility of athletes and athlete’s personnel.
The President of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner-Usmanova drew attention of those present to the importance of preventive measures, as well as to the need of antidoping awareness raising programs among athletes and their entourage.
By unanimous decision, the Executive Committee adopted a regulation on conducting awareness-raising activities by regional sports federations, establishing a 2020 anti-doping educational plan by them, obligatory annual passing by all members of the federation of RUSADA online course, undergoing of development programs on anti-doping by coaches, as well as engaging with legal representatives of minor athletes.
