On August 21, the opening of the first scientific and methodological seminar for specialists responsible for anti-doping security in regions of the Volga Federal District took place.

On August 20-23, the first scientific and methodological seminar for specialists responsible for anti-doping security in regions of the Russian Federation is held in Izhevsk. Representatives from 13 out of 14 regions of the Volga Federal District participate in the event.

The first day of the seminar, August 20, was devoted to the antidoping knowledge control of the specialists appointed as regional responsible for anti-doping security in the regions of the Volga Federal District. Such assessment identifies lack of knowledge in certain key sections of anti-doping and therefore increase the effectiveness of the program due to the emphasis on problem areas.

Today, on August 21, the opening of the seminar took place. The acting Minister of Sports of the Udmurt Republic Denis Parakhin and RUSADA Deputy Director General Margarita Pakhnotskaya addressed to the participants the high importance of the event and the need for cooperation of the regions and the national anti-doping organisation in order to form a comprehensive prevention system.

The practical workshops on key aspects of prevention programs in anti-doping and a detailed analysis of the first day’s difficulties review are organised for the participants. The workshops will be presented by Deputy Head of RUSADA Educational Programs Department Ekaterina Sizikova and Chief specialist responsible for interactions with regions of the Volga Federal District, Valeriya Konova, who were part of RUSADA expert group involved in 2018 in creating and conducting anti-doping training programs for specialists in the field of physical culture and sports.

An exam will be held on August 23, following which RUSADA will send to all the regions of the Volga Federal District individual recommendations on the organisation of prevention programs as part of their antidoping security systems.
