A virtual workshop for Russian-speaking countries on cooperation between National Anti-Doping Agencies and law enforcement agencies took place on Thursday 13th January 2022. The workshop was organized by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). The workshop was aimed at enhancing cooperation, exchanging knowledge and experience between National Anti-Doping Agencies (NADOs), WADA, law enforcement agencies and Interpol. Moreover, the organizers of the workshop paid particular attention to the issues of the exchanging information and the improvement of the mutual cooperation with Interpol, providing to the law enforcement agencies with the special knowledge and skills required to undertake an investigation related to doping, establishing close contacts between law enforcement agencies and NADOs.

More than 30 participants took part in this virtual workshop. Representatives of RUSADA, the Main Division on Drug Trafficking Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, WADA, Interpol and the National Anti-Doping Agency of Poland (POLADA) were the main speakers. RUSADA was represented by Veronika Loginova, General Director of RUSADA, and Leonid Ivanov, Head of Investigation Department of RUSADA. RUSADA and the Main Division on Drug Trafficking Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia shared with other participants their experience in analytics, detection and investigation of doping-related violations, they presented their joint work, including ongoing joint educational events, aimed at raising the level of awareness of law enforcement officers in the field of combating doping, and also raised the questions regarding the legislative regulation of the fight against doping in the Russian Federation and the application of this legislation in practice.
