On September 29, 2018 at 11:00 RUSADA in cooperation with the ROC Innovation Center invites representatives of sports federations, regional executive authorities and sports organizations engaged in the field of physical culture and sports, and other specialists whose professional activities are related to sports, including children's, youth and student to the open lecture of Professor Yannis Pitsiladis " Peak Performance without Doping: Fact or Fiction?" followed by a discussion.

Topics to be discussed at the lecture:

  • Is it possible to achieve peak performance in sports without the use of prohibited substances and methods?

  • What is the role of science in peak performance?

  • How to protect young athletes from doping and help them to improve the results in their chosen sport?

Professor Yanis Pitsiladis - Director of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) at the University of Brighton (UK), member of the IOC Medical Commission. The largest DNA Biobank of highly qualified athletes was created at the University of Glasgow under his leadership. His current research focuses on how to use genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics to determine the use of prohibited methods and substances in sports.
