The world's first anti-doping course for non-sports medicine doctors

RUSADA has launched an online course on anti-doping for doctors not specialized in sports medicine. The course is designed for internists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, pediatricians, surgeons, and other medical specialists who may encounter athletes in their practice, but are not experts in sports medicine.

"Athlete-patients are required to comply with the prohibition on the use and even storage of substances included in the Prohibited List. They bear strict personal responsibility for the ingestion of such substances into the body. That is why it is so important that doctors who may need to provide medical care to athletes are aware of the anti-doping rules and can prevent possible violations.

We have launched this online course, which has no analogues in the world, in order to protect our athletes from the risk of unintentional violations of anti-doping rules," said Veronika Loginova, RUSADA Director General.

What will you learn during the course? The course will cover the following topics:

  • Prohibited List of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)
  • The procedure for obtaining permission for therapeutic use (TUE)
  • An algorithm that athletes should follow during their examination, treatment, and rehabilitation to prevent violations of anti-doping rules

This free course is available online and consists of 2 modules: a theoretical part with links to useful materials and a 10-question test. Each student who gets more than 80% of the correct answers will receive a certificate confirming their knowledge in the field of anti-doping.
