The Prohibited List specifies which substances and methods are prohibited both in-competition and out-of-competition, as well as which substances are banned in certain sports.
What's new on the Prohibited List 2025?
- The intervals for taking formoterol have changed, although the maximum daily dose remains the same.
- Donating blood and its components, including through apheresis, is now allowed if done at an accredited donation center.
- Hydrafinil has been reclassified as a stimulant related to specific substances.
- It has been clarified that guanfacine is not banned.
- Beta-blockers have been removed from the list in skiing and snowboarding disciplines.
Additional examples have been added to the following classes of substances to help athletes and their support personnel better identify prohibited substances:
S0. Disallowed Substances
S4. Hormones and Metabolic Modulators
S5. Diuretics and Masking Agents
S6. Stimulants
The prohibited list is published three months prior to its implementation, so that athletes, their support personnel, and other interested parties have time to familiarize themselves with any changes.
