A seminar-meeting dedicated to strengthening cooperation between Main Directorate for Drug Control (MDDC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (MIA of Russia), RUSADA and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Center for the Study and Network Monitoring of Youth Environments” in combating doping and drug propaganda was held at the MDDC of the MIA of Russia.
Chaired by Deputy Head of MDDC, Police Major General Sergey Savochkin, participants discussed mechanisms for detecting and preventing illegal activities related to doping, as well as procedures for coordinating verification measures targeting athletes.
Particular attention was paid to the relevance of anti-doping efforts within law enforcement agencies. As Sergey Savochkin emphasized: “The doping industry is one of the most profitable sectors on the shadow market. Our Directorate takes a principled stance in combating it and is committed to further developing tactics and methods to counter illegal activities in this area, as well as enhancing forms of cooperation with all interested parties”.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to systematically develop joint efforts with RUSADA and «Center for the Study and Network Monitoring of Youth Environments»—both in anti-doping and anti-drug directions.
