Within the framework of the "Russia as a Sports Power" Forum, a meeting of the Athletes' Commission of the Russian Olympic Committee was held. RUSADA and the Russian Olympic Committee regularly hold joint events for representatives of the sporting community, and this time in Ufa, anti-doping integration played an important part in the business programme for Russian Olympic Reserve athletes.
The RUSADA representative was hosted by the Russian Olympic Team House at the invitation of the Russian Olympic Committee. In addition to the familiar anti-doping quiz that refreshes knowledge of anti-doping regulations, athletes participated in a virtual doping control simulation using VR glasses. This helps them to cope with anxiety before taking samples.
Tamerlan Bashayev, a Tokyo Olympic medalist and ambassador for clean sports from the Russian Judo Federation, was one of the 70 athletes attending the RUSADA event. Thanks to the participation of professional athletes in RUSADA's education programs, the values of clean sport and fair competition are being passed on from one generation to the next.
