The statistics of cases of meldonium use identified in 2024 continue to show a positive trend.
Compared to the previous year, the number of positive tests for meldonium decreased by 65%.
In 2024, there were 8 detected cases, while in 2023 there were 23 identified cases during the same period.
RUSADA would like to remind athletes that meldonium was banned in sports starting from January 1, 2016.
The active substance, meldonium, is included in various drugs with different trade names, which are widely advertised. Some of these drugs include:
- Angiocardil
- Brain max
- Vasoma
- Cardionat
- Melfort
- Milgen
- Merciful
- Mildronat
- Ripronate VM.
