On November 29 in Moscow the Association Russian Anti-doping Agency "RUSADA" with the support of the Ministry of sports of the Russian Federation held the Annual international conference "Anti-Doping support in sport". Deputy Minister of sports of the Russian Federation Igor Sidorkevich and RAA “RUSADA” Deputy Director General Margarita Pakhnotskaya welcomed the participants.
Igor Sidorkevich highly appreciated the importance and effectiveness of the joint work of the Ministry and the Agency in the implementation of systematic work to fight doping. Margarita Pakhnotskaya noted that the meeting of sports federations’ representatives and those responsible for anti-doping support in the regions within one event provides new opportunities for building further effective work on combating doping in sport.
Among the topics discussed at the conference were changes to the Code and International standards, coming into force in 2021, as well as the duties of the all-Russian sports federations and those responsible for anti-doping support in the subjects of the Russian Federation to fight doping in sports, provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
At the end, the participants were addressed by RUSADA Director General Yuri Ganus, who highlighted the importance of joint work of all stakeholders operating in the field of anti-doping. He called for maintaining the cleanness and spirit of sport at all operational levels to protect the right of athletes to participate in competitions free of doping.
The conference was attended by 190 people, including 71 representatives of sports federations and 67 representatives of regions.
Among the participants of the conference were also members of the Ministry of internal affairs, and colleagues from Uzbekistan and Republic of Belarus NADOs.
