On April 17, 2019, a working meeting on the anti-doping provision of the Republic of Tatarstan was held at the republican Ministry of Sports. The meeting was attended by RUSADA Deputy Director General Margarita Pakhnotskaya, specialist of RUSADA educational programs department Valeriya Konova, Head of the department of interagency cooperation of Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation Veronika Loginova, Tatarstan Republic Ministry of Sports and Ministry of Health representatives, as well as the heads of Sports Training Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, “Republican Center for Physical Culture and Youth Sport” and Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
During the meeting parties discussed cooperation in the field of countering doping in sports and creation of a stable anti-doping security system in the region.
“The fact that the Republic of Tatarstan is a region known for sport activities has not been questioned. The confusing fact is the correlation between high sport achievements, infrastructure, the number of athletes, the number of sports represented in the region and the level of anti-doping support in the Republic. I hope that these questions are mostly of a technical basis and not of a functional one”- summarised Margarita Pakhnotskaya after the meeting. “The important issue is not just signing documents for making changes in the indicators. It is more important how we are going to establish a strong anti-doping system. If you need help from RUSADA or Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, we are ready to guarantee it. We are acting not only in a form of a dialogue, we also provide physical, methodological and scientific assistance. ”
On April 18, 2019, RUSADA holds educational seminars for regional public organizations, sports federations, heads of municipal sports institutions, and head coaches of national teams of the Republic of Tatarstan at the Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
