On July 22, the State Duma passed in the first reading a law designed to enhance the effectiveness of the national anti-doping system.

This important step is the result of joint efforts by the Russian Ministry of Sport, the RUSADA team, and other relevant federal executive bodies, who prepared the draft legislation in accordance with international standards.

A comment from Oleg Vasilyevich Matytsin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sport, was published by the Committee’s Telegram channel:

“The problem of doping use has no nationality or state borders. Russia has been and remains committed to the fundamental principles of the UNESCO Convention. According to international experts, one of the most effective anti-doping systems has been established in Russia. We are consistently continuing our policy of protecting clean sport and maintaining zero tolerance towards doping. This is an absolute priority of state policy in the field of sport.”

The proposed amendments to the Federal Law “On Physical Culture and Sport in the Russian Federation” No.329-FL are intended to strengthen the legal framework for anti-doping activities in Russia.
